Family in the House

Welcome to my blog, everyone.

Libby had visitors this weekend. Granddad and Grandma, Aunt Brett and Uncle Mason, and Izzy made their way "back east" to spend some quality time with us. Libby had a lot of fun with the houseful, keeping her eye on "Iz" or "I-yz" (her two pet names for Izzy), posing for Aunt Brett (who recently purchased a new camera and took many of the following great photos of Libby), giggling at Uncle Mason (who managed to crack Libby up even when he was simply sitting), playing with Grandma while mama rested and enjoying Granddad's expertise in backyard fun.
By the time she went to bed tonight, Libby was completely exhausted, and at the same time disappointed when she gave her goodnight waves and there was no one in the family room waiting to kiss
her wet-from-the-bath little face and send her off to bed.

Unfortunately, daddy didn't get to spend much family time with us
because he has a little thing called the bar exam
coming up in a couple of days. So, please include him
in your prayers because he'll be working hard this week.
But he'll then recover, and then enjoy every
last moment of freedom and relaxation.
Stay tuned to the Life of Libby
to see how she treats her daddy
to many fun times in August,
daddy's month of vacation before starting work.

by this point, libby had figured out that aunt brett's
camera flashes a red light and makes a "beep!" just before
it takes a picture. when she heard the beep, libby clapped her hands
with excitement that another photo was being taken.

Mahoney State Park

Saturday afternoon we took a quick trip to Mahoney State Park.
Aunt Brett poses with little Libby, but Libby is ready to break free and
explore this playground!

frankly, mama's a bit frightened of the haystack toy.
thankfully, though uncle mason demonstrates for libby some bad habits, she is busy entertaining aunt brett by making hand-to-mouth noises.

libby gets her first "go round" on the merry-go-round

libby has been quite leery of swings in her day,
but this big bucket seat suits her just fine and she
enjoys herself (as long as mama touches the swing every
time libby comes forward)

is this thing safe?

uncle mason thinks back to his younger years

thanks to the tutelage of a 4-year-old, libby is confident that she can
conquer the fear of the unknown on the other side of the tube
and leaves her family behind.

grandma rests on a bench, but libby will have none of it.
