seriously dad... let go. i'm fine, really. mom, would you tell dad to let me go? uncle mason, no mention of the thighs, okay?

yeah, i'm standing. if dad would let go of me i could get somewhere.  

let us clarify - this is a travel crib, not a full-sized. she's not quite THAT long. but she loves to sleep with her head in the corner, snuggled up against the bumper. and mama had a suspicion and took a peek at the feet under the blanket. she was right. they're crossed as usual.  

i'll tell you the truth - i want to crawl. i'm not satisfied just laying here on the floor, there are places i want to go. the problem is, my knees. i just can't seem to manage to stay up on them. (but look at me lifting my feet up in the air. i'm so cute!) 

you can play with me all you want, as long as i can suck my fingers.

it's a bird! it's a plane! it's a beautiful baby! 

last friday heidi's friend mandy and libby's new friend gracie came to visit. gracie is almost exactly 2 months older than libby. (libby is almost 4 months old, gracie almost 6 months) the girls played throught the day and went swimming (that is, when libby wasn't napping). gracie showed libby all sorts of tricks, like sucking on the toes and eating cereal! at the end of the day we all went out to dinner, but before saying good-bye we pose for a picture.

gracie doesn't know what to think of this photo opp, and libby's pretty sure she doesn't care. 

the girls check each other out. gracie loves to touch libby and libby finally lets gracie take her by the hand. 

gracie says, "libby i love ya! come here, i just want to kiss ya!" 

gracie looks at libby's mama, and libby looks at gracie's. 

the sweet pea relaxes for a bit, but mama has an idea to test her strength.  

so i'm sitting. now what am i supposed to do? 

okay, i need to get upright! i can do this! 

mom, can't i do anything without you getting out that camera? 

try not to notice the drool. she's sitting steady and holding on to her toes. 

by the time mama gives libby a break, libby's pushed herself up enough to rest on the arm of the chair and give us a wave. 

It's Father's day! Grandpa Mark and Grandma Shelley spent the weekend with us. Below are some pictures of our time together. But after they left, we got ready to take a dip in the pool. We've got our lotion on, and after adding a shirt and a bonnet, Libby and mama are ready to dive in!
